BACKGROUND
Recent years have seen the rise on issues of well-being. Both academics and policy makers intend to investigate the topic for several reasons. First, well-being is seen as one of the most important goals in human life. Second, different cultures may have different perspectives in viewing well-being. It is inline with what Diener's arguments (Diener, 2009). He argued that one central issue in examining well-being is cultural differences. The several questions need to be addressed including: To what extent do cultures have an effect on well-being? Do people in different cultures have different conceptions of well-being? Are the determinants of well-being similar or distinct in different cultures? To address this important issue on well-being, it is important to study and examine wellbeing cross culturally as well-being tends to be different among cultures across the globe. Therefore, we hold a conference on cross cultural perspectives on well-being. This Conference will cover issues on cross-cultural issues on wellbeing. It dedicates to creating a stage for exchanging the latest research results and sharing the advanced research methods.
